PRIORITIES

Affordability

TAXES

With cost-of-living increasing, we need to prioritize keeping taxes & city fees as low as possible. Reducing fees & red tape is essential for economic recovery.

RURAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

I want to ensure that the City's new Official plan carries residents into the future for the next 25 years in which our rural needs are met, and well represented. Ensuring our residents continue to thrive while staying connected and maintaining our rural identity and continuing to protect agricultural lands as we move forward together.

COVID 19 RECOVERY

We are still in a pandemic, continuing on the good work that’s underway in support of individuals, families and businesses as we recover from Covid-19.

ROADS

Our rural roads are in desperate need of maintenance and repair. We need to make sure that we prioritize the needed investment in our roads. Infrastructure/maintenance and safety, of our existing roads, and pathways/links for cyclists. Making sure that our roads are safe and our kids keep safe is paramount.

IMPROVING DISASTER RESPONSE

From floods, tornados, derecho storms or inclement weather events are increasing leaving more and more residents each year disenfranchised.  Coordinating better disaster response with all levels of government is absolutely essential as we fight the effects of Climate Change.

SAFE GUARDING OUR FOOD SUPPLY

Access to healthy and nutritious food that is locally grown is essential now more than ever as the cost of food rises dramatically.

BROADBAND INTERNET & CELLULAR CONNECTIVITY

Rural internet connectivity is critical to residents across the ward. For our students to thrive, for seniors in staying connected, for businesses and everyone in between.

Rural Transportation

The Tac Committee (Transportation Association Canada) does great work Consulting and providing input into various transportation issues in our city. I would have a committee through them that is dedicated to looking at rural transit options for West Carleton - March.
